Fall Kicks off with a Bang
Although the summer was off to a slow start, the fall seems to be quite different as September kicked off with a
bang showing major signs of life with a 50% increase in sales over August. There is a new energy around the
For Sale by Owner industry fuelled by satisfied buyers and sellers. Though no one is saying we are
experiencing a boom such as in 2006 or 2007, we are however hearing very positive experiences from buyers
and sellers who suggest the worst is behind us. Multiple offers and quick sales are becoming more common
coming off a 12 month stretch where such experiences were almost unheard of.
“It’s a testament that consumer confidence is recovering”, says ComFree VP Travis Holowach, “Sellers
recognize that they can price their home more competitively when they sell with ComFree since there are no
commissions, and buyers get a better deal. It’s a win-win and that’s why the success rate of our clients is an
unprecedented 88%”
Housing prices continue to rise slowly with the average single family dwelling selling for $385,174 and the
average condo/townhouse selling for $262,914 both up slightly over last month. The average time it takes to
sell virtually unchanged at 46 days and the average savings by selling with ComFree is currently $14,380 saving
buyers and sellers in September over $2.3 Million in real estate commissions!
